Welcome to Makings of Malisa

Hello! I am so glad that you decided to stop by and get to know what Makings of Malisa is all about! I hope that you find the time to engage and that we can learn from each other.

Now, let’s get the pronunciation of my name correct…

My name is Ma-Lisa.

I have no clue why my parents had to be so difficult but for some reason my name gives most people the hardest time. People call me Melissa (I hate this by the way), MY-Lisa (oddly, I kind of like this one), Mar-Lisa (I am still searching for the “r”. Let me know when you find it) and the list goes on!

When I meet someone who pronounces my first name correctly from reading it, I instantly love them for life!

I am a writer to my core. I pick up writing and put it down often but like that old boyfriend who didn’t treat you right the first time, writing just keeps coming back to my heart. Writing (and dancing) is my ‘Happy Place’. It gives me a fuzzy little feeling that is probably the equivalent of wearing a Snuggy while drinking a cappuccino, walking on the beach with your significant other, or a kid waiting on Santa. I hope you get my point.

Writing is Life. Writing is Peace. Writing is Joy!

I plan to use this blog to talk about life, goals and everything in between.

About me – I am…
A Disciple of Christ
Far from Perfect
In Love with People
Not too Fond of Animals
Currently Single
Super Dope
Goal Oriented
Kinda Sappy
Mostly Happy

So this is enough about me for now. If you want to know more than please subscribe! I can confidently say that our quality of life will increase with each post. I hope that you take the time to engage and we can all learn from each other.

Don’t be shy… tell me a little bit about yourself in the comments below!

  1. I loved your bio. Especially the part of you stating that you are a disciple of Christ. Being a disciple is not easy. But we keep moving forward. A little about me. I have come to learn to appreciate life. I see God in all creation. He has taught me to take time out to see His hand in my surroundings. I am a proud grandmother of two grandchildren. I am also married to a wonder man who has his own personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. In my spare time I love going to local cafe shops. Meeting people is my pleasure. I can be standing in line at a store and will start a conversation with the person in front of me and behind me. I enjoy working out at my gym. And now that we aren’t able to do that I now work out in my home. One more thing before I forget I love blogging, I have been doing it for over ten years now. Been on different sites sharing the gospel to the lost while encouraging the saints.

Nice meeting you. Thank you for allowing me to share about me. God bless you in all that you do for the Kingdom of GOD!

    1. So nice to meet you and thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself! Reading your bio gave me hope when you said that you’re married to a man who has his own relationship with the Lord. Dating in 2020 is not so easy when having certain standards, so I thank you for adding that in your introduction. With our shared love for Jesus, coffee shops and random conversations, it seems like we would get along great!

    1. Thank you for taking the time to spell my name correctly. You would be surprised at how many people have known me for years and still can’t get it right 😂 Also, thank you so much for reading and commenting! I promise to never make you feel obligated to engage with me. Much love to you as well ❤️

      1. Haha! Oh, trust me! I know your pain! I’ve had so many alternative endings to my name that I quit even trying to get people to spell it right (Brand-I, Brand-IE, Brand-Y… I’ve even had Brittany, which is an entirely different name altogether!) LOL! 😂 You are so very welcome and no worries about feeling obligated on my end either! Thank you again! ❤️❤️
