Since getting into a somewhat new relationship, I have realized how important dating your significant other truly is in order for a relationship to thrive. Dates (no matter who plans them) should be frequent and intentional. How frequent dates should happen is a needed conversation and should probably happen early on in the relationship to manage expectations.
Spring is a great season to date! Even though it is scorching hot during the day (I reside in the South), it is worth the tiny sweat beads so that you can connect with your guy or gal. Keep scrolling to get some ideas:
Okay, before you scream at that the screen that it’s too hot, just think about it: you and your man or woman in a shaded, semi-secluded area of a park with ice cold refreshments, wine, fruit and good conversation. Ugh, yes please! Picnics are a great way to have good conversation and get to know your other half a little bit better. Don’t forget to take games, people watch and hold each other as you watch the sun set!
I am slightly obsessed with this… probably because it is the only game that I am somewhat good at playing. There are countless places to play minigolf and some even offer the game indoors. It’s a fun way to talk smack and poke fun at one another while having a good time.
I have never had the opportunity to go on a dancing date but that doesn’t stop a girl from dreaming. This is something that I have ALWAYS wanted to do. I guess I’m showing my age here, but I have always fancied the idea of a man asking me to go dance and us “cutting up the rug” for a few hours.
Missed the Welcome to Makings of Malisa post?
I haven’t done this since college but I have to admit that it was fun to point out the different constellations and talk about what we wanted to be when we grew up. It’s something about being outside looking for shooting stars that is extra romantic. Two extra points if you bring a telescope and get to see the stars up close and personal.
Crafting classes have become all the rave within the last few years. I am sure there are a plethora of classes within a short distance from you. I have participated in at least a half dozen painting classes and recently made my own candles. I have yet to try pottery and jewelry making but they are on my list.
I am becoming more and more of an outdoors girl. I am starting to enjoy walking trails, hiking and parks more within the last year. Bike riding is one of my favorite outdoor activities and I am hoping that I can do it this summer at least once.
New Dining Experiences
Experience new restaurants together! I know that eating for every date can get boring but since I work from home, nothing beats putting on real clothes, makeup and heels and experiencing a new restaurant with my boyfriend.
I hope these tips help. Please let me know if you have any spring date ideas to add in the comments below.
